I was born and raised outside Chicago, Illinois but have spent most of my adult life in the American South. First at Emory University in Atlanta for my BA in Philosophy, then graduate work at the University of South Carolina. Later I returned to Atlanta to earn a Culinary degree and worked as a caterer/personal chef for several years.

In 2001, I had the opportunity to live and work in Japan on the JET Programme. I spent three years in Japan teaching English and learning Japanese. The exposure I had to an ancient and truly foreign culture has shaped me in many ways.

After returning to the US, I attended The Creative Circus and studied Graphic Design. Since graduating in 2006, I have been working as a freelance designer and teaching at the Circus. The constant interaction with the students and their creative energy inspires me to approach projects from a variety of different perspectives and with enthusiasm.

I have worked with a variety of clients doing everything from identity systems and print collateral to website design. Please feel free to view some of my work in the design and logos sections of this site. If you have a design project you think I might be able to help you with, please contact me. I would be happy to discuss the details of your project and how I might help you fulfill your communication needs.
